Lunch & Learn: Microforests and Biochar

  • Marlborough Research Centre 85 Budge Street Blenheim, Marlborough, 7201 New Zealand (map)

Often no bigger than a tennis court, microforests are small, multi-layered planted forests that serve as carbon stores and biodiversity stepping stones. Asita Langi from the Nelson Whakatu Microforest will share the concepts and methodology of microforests as a restoration tool for small spaces. Learn how Biochar was incorporated into the Nelson Whakatu Microforest and how this tool improved soil, water and nutrient retention. Lunch provided so registration essential!

Event sponsored by NZ Landcare Trust and Nelson City Council.
