Wine Tasting
A day on the Marlborough wine trail typically takes in three to five cellar doors, with each tasting around 40-60 minutes. With such a wide range of varieties and styles to discover, some visitors prefer to compare one variety across different producers, while others work their way through the full range - from bubbles and aromatic whites to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Tasting experiences vary across the region - some offer tasting trays, others provide a more individual, guided experience. All cellar doors that charge for tasting will have light food available, and if you're planning lunch, booking ahead is recommended.
On weekends, many cellar doors come alive with music and food trucks - check our events page for what's on during your visit. And as always, arrange a tour or designated driver so you can make the most of the day.
